Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance Full Trailer
Hmmm, now I’m not so sure about this. The teaser for this looked like directors Neveldine & Taylor had created a crazy but fun follow-up to Mark Steven Johnson’s weak 2007 pic. Plus, the production values looked solid. Unfortunately, some of the stuff revealed in this full trailer just looks cheap. Like the makeup for that white-haired demon. It gives off a direct-to-DVD vibe. Ugh. Speaking of direct-to-DVD, that’s Christopher “Highlander” Lambert playing a baddie. Whoa. Matching that vibe is Nic Cage with his usual glassy-eyed “acting”. To top it all off, the directing duo’s track record also hasn’t been very good recently. The thing is, when they’re on their game, they can make some downright entertaining movies. So who knows, there is still the off-chance that this’ll at least be half-decent.
Here’s the story: “Nicolas Cage returns as Johnny Blaze in Columbia Pictures’ and Hyde Park Entertainment’s “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.” In the successor to the worldwide hit “Ghost Rider,” Johnny – still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter – is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Ciaran Hinds). At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy – and possibly rid himself of his curse forever.”
“Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance” premieres 14th February 2012.

The ‘Ghost Rider’ comic book has a ‘parental advisory’ tag on it i.e. an ‘R’ rating in movie terms. Marvel Comics discovered years back that the character works best when the chains are taken off (pun intended). The movie teaser seems to thread unsurely between R-rated action horror and teen-friendly FX fest.

Pacman: Rest assured, with directors like Neveldine & Taylor, we’re gonna get a wild, crazy, dark Ghost Rider. Whether the movie will be any good or not, now that remains to be seen.
