Electroshadow last broke the news of racing biopic “Rush” back in October last year. Since then, the project’s gone into full production, with Chris Hemsworth headlining the cast. We’ll be seeing a lot more of the “Thor” star from now on. He’s got at least four upcoming movies just this year alone. The Aussie actor’s star is definitely on the rise. This one, directed by Ron Howard (“A Beautiful Mind”), should further cement his status as a bonafide leading man.
Comingsoon was on set in London recently, and managed to get some shots of Hemsworth in costume. This is our first-ever glimpse of the film, and looks like they’ve captured the period, right down to the slightly sleazy 70s hair. And that blood-stained helmet in the 4th pic is a tantalising promise of gritty, brutal racing action, complete with a nasty crash or two…
Here’s the official synopsis: “Set against the sexy, glamorous and spectacular golden age of Formula 1 racing, “Rush” portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed – handsome English playboy James Hunt (Hemsworth) and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Niki Lauda (Daniel Bruhl). Following their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.”
“Rush” also stars Daniel Bruhl, Olivia Wilde, and Alexandra Maria Lara. It has yet to receive a release date.
