Monsters University Teaser Trailer
“Monsters Inc” is one of my favourite Pixar films. It’s got a great premise, is terrifically funny, and has loads of heart. No one would’ve minded if they made a sequel to this, unlike say, “Cars”. But the studio decided there was more potential in a prequel instead. So here we are with “Monsters University”, which as the title suggests, goes back to Mike and Sully’s college days. I was kinda worried when “Cars” co-writer Dan Scanlon was announced as the director, since that was hands down Pixar’s weakest material. Plus the guy hasn’t really got much directing experience. Still, this teaser has allayed some of my concerns, as it brings the laughs, broad and cheap as they are. It’s just great to see these characters again after so long, and even from this brief bit of footage, their chemistry seems to be intact…
Here’s the movie’s official description: “Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends. Screaming with laughter and fun, “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”) and produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”). The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.”

gwen10: Me too! Hmmm. I wonder where pixargirl is. You’d think she/he would be the first one to comment on a Pixar movie…

somebody called?
I bet this clip is specially made for a trailer and won’t show in the actual film. But it sure does set the tone. Can’t wait!

pixargirl: Welcome back, we missed you!
You might be right about the clip being done specially as promo material only. Good call.
