The Star Wars That I Used To Know!
Ah, pop culture. It feeds on itself, doesn’t it? Pop song du jour “Somebody That I Used To Know” by Gotye (pronounced Go-ti-yay), a heartfelt number about breaking up, has been blitzing the airwaves for the last couple of months. People love sad songs, I guess.
Now, a bunch of Star Wars fans have turned it into something equally impassioned. Only this time it’s an attack on George Lucas and what he did to the much-beloved geek property. Visually, the video is an exact copy of the original, except for a fat, bearded Lucas-alike dude replacing the sexy girl from Gotye’s version. The lyrics are pretty amusing too, and they make some pretty valid points about the Star Wars we used to know…
