So far, I haven’t seen anything of this movie that has convinced me it’ll be good. Or even decent. The teaser trailer was crap. And just based on the costumes alone, I think this has veered way too far into artistic over-indulgence on the part of director Tarsem Singh. The guy sure likes stylising everything according to his weird vision, and while I respect originality, sometimes making things look weird just for the sake of it is plain distracting. In short, I think Mickey Rourke looks friggin’ ridiculous in his outfit. Just check him out in the poster below. The rest thankfully don’t look quite as embarrassing. I dunno, guys. As they say in a galaxy far, far away, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this”. But enough of me being a negative nancy.

Here’s the official synopsis: “As a power-mad king razes ancient Greece in search of a legendary weapon, a heroic young villager rises up against him in a thrilling quest as timeless as it is powerful.”

“Immortals” stars Henry Cavill as Theseus, Stephen Dorff as Stavros, Isabel Lucas as Athena, Freida Pinto as Phaedra , Luke Evans as young Zeus, Kellan Lutz as Poseidon, John Hurt as old Zeus and Mickey Rourke as a hood ornament.
