First Look! Arnie Begins Filming The Expendables 2

I’ll admit it, I don’t really remember much from the first “Expendables” movie. Back then, it was showing on the plane’s in-flight entertainment system and my friend seated next to me said that when she peeked at my screen, all she could see was a lot of shooting and explosions.

I’d say that pretty much sums up the film.

But the reason I chose to watch it was because of the cast. Sly Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis… it was like having a 90-minute flashback of your growing up years in the 80s. The call of nostalgia rang up about $274mln at the Box Office. Enough reason to warrant a sequel. Happy news to the children of the 80s.

Earlier today Arnie sent out this tweet from the set of the film: ”Back in action for The Expendables 2! I’m having a fantastic time on set with Bruce and Sly in Bulgaria.”

But in case you’re expecting a much larger role for him this time round, don’t. According to Den Of Geek, Schwarzenegger’s presence isn’t much more significant than his cameo in the first one. He’ll only be on set for a grand total of 4 days, which means probably two to three scenes at most. Speaking of on-set, the Austrian Oak himself also tweeted a first-ever look at the production, showing the three titans of testosterone in a relaxed mood before the shoot.

This is going to be awesome.

“The Expendables 2″ also stars Jet Li, Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Liam Hemsworth, Dolph Lundgren, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris. The Simon West-directed action sequel premieres 17th August 2012.
