Looks like directors Chris Renaud and Pierre Coffin are sticking to the old “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” nugget of wisdom. This full trailer may show Gru having changed for the better, but now there’s a new villain in town and he’s called upon to tap into his villainous ways once again to help stop the threat… with the help of the girls, and his Minions. You just can’t/shouldn’t keep a bad guy down. Plus those cute Minions look like they’re taking an even more prominent role this time. No complaints about that here. In fact, I’m looking forward to their standalone movie. In the meantime, we have this to look forward to. What do you think? Worthy sequel or not?

Here’s a quick description of the film: “Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s worldwide blockbuster, “Despicable Me,” delighted audiences around the globe in 2010, grossing more than $540 million and becoming the 10th-biggest animated motion picture in U.S. history. In Summer 2013, get ready for more minion madness in “Despicable Me 2.” Chris Meledandri and his acclaimed filmmaking team create an all-new comedy animated adventure featuring the return of Gru (Steve Carell), the girls, the unpredictably hilarious minions… and a host of new and outrageously funny characters.”

“Despicable Me 2″ features the voices of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Russell Brand and Al Pacino. It premieres 3rd July.

I liked the first movie. And from the looks of this trailer, the sequel looks good too. I at least laughed at the minions. hehe.
