By now, the “Fast & Furious” franchise has turned into a live-action cartoon. Any semblance to reality has long since been abandoned, in favour of ridiculously over-the-top action. Y’know what else is silly? The incessant talk of “family”. You could play a drinking game where overtime someone said the word family or alluded to it, you’d have to down a shot. Drunken oblivion guaranteed in no time. Take this latest trailer for example. It’s just a couple of minutes long and they manage to squeeze in family several times. Okay, so this has nothing to do with the entertainment value of this 8th instalment. In that department, the trailer shows us a LOT, and it looks like another round of big dumb set pieces. Hopefully it’s all still fun.
