By now, we’ve given up all hope that “Transformers” can be any good at all, as long as Michael Bay keeps returning to the director’s chair. But the fact is, the franchise under him continues to make tonnes of money, so here we are now with the 5th instalment. And it’s got a title: “Transformers: The last Knight”. No, we don’t know what that means either, and we’re willing to bet it won’t make sense even when we see the movie.
Anyway, today, Bay himself revealed the latest developments for his sequel, in the form of a image of fan-favourite character Bumblebee. Aside from dropping the big reveal on his official website, Bay also posted the following message along with his Tweet: “Bee is back! @generalmotors really got it done with this custom-built 2016 Camaro. #transformers”
To be fair, the car does look pretty sweet, but the vehicles have never been the problem with these movies. Bumblebee is once more a Chevy Camaro (albeit a prototype version), in keeping with the product placement they have with General Motors. In case you didn’t notice, this design is yet another upgrade from previous movies. If only his robotic form got an upgrade too, so he — and the other Transformers — don’t look so damn messy.
“Transformers: The Last Knight” stars Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, Josh Duhamel as Lieutenant Colonel Lennox, and Isabela Moner as the film’s female lead, Izabella. Jerrod Carmichael and Sir Anthony Hopkins (“The Silence of the Lambs”) are also joining the cast. Production is set to begin on today, for a 23rd June 2017 release.
