David Ayer is coming off a massive commercial and critical failure with “Sabotage”. It’s dimmed his prospects a bit in Hollywood, but fortunately he’s got “Fury” lined up next. And this one looks pretty damn good so far. This behind-the-scenes featurette gives us a first look at footage, as well as the inside track from the director and the cast. What’s nice is that Ayer is shooting on film instead of digital, to give it that old school sense of grit that you just can’t fake. I’m looking forward to this, even with the presence of the normally insufferable Shia LaBeouf. The rest of the cast should make up for it.
Here’s the official synopsis: “Fury is set at the very end of World War II, in April 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theater, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.”
“Fury” stars Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena, Jon Bernthal and Jason Isaacs. It premieres 14th November.
