John Williams is a personal hero of mine, and unquestionably one of the greatest — if not THE greatest — film composers of all time. The man has won five Oscars over a career that spans six decades and counting. So I take this news with a very happy heart. Today, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy announced that Williams will be providing the music for “Star Wars: Episode VII”. StarWars.com caught up with him to discuss his musical approach, working with Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams. Check out this video interview…

Williams joins director J.J. Abrams, screenwriter Michael Arndt, and story consultants Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg to make “Star Wars: Episode VII”. It’s set to premiere in 2015.

Suba: Welcome to Electroshadow! Yes, Williams is always a welcome addition to any score. None more so than a “Star Wars” film.
