I am slowly gaining more and more interest in “Life”, the new science-fiction thriller with Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal. It is clearly inspired by Ridley Scott’s original “Alien”, with shades of “Gravity”. Each new bit of footage that Columbia Pictures and Skydance put out keeps getting more intense, and this latest red-band trailer (for swearing) features a sequence that is not for the faint of heart. Let’s hope the movie itself lives up to the promise…

Here’s the official summary: “Life is a terrifying sci-fi thriller about a team of scientists aboard the International Space Station whose mission of discovery turns to one of primal fear when they find a rapidly evolving life form that caused extinction on Mars, and now threatens the crew and all life on Earth.

The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler, Demolition), Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, The Girl on the Train), Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool, Criminal), Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine, The Last Ship), Ariyon Bakare (Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, New Blood), and Olga Dihovichnaya (Twilight Portrait, House of Others).”

“Life” is directed by Daniel Espinosa (“Safe House”) from a script by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (“Zombieland”). It premieres 24th March.
