While the world gears up for the Batman and Superman brawl, Marvel Studios wants us to remember that their own superhero dust-up is also on the way. So the marketing department has been getting busy for “Captain America: Civil War”.
On Monday, Marvel released a whole batch of character posters featuring all the members of Team Cap, and today they revealed the other side of the divide with Team Stark. Iron Man has “only” 5 members on his side, but look who’s in it. Frankly, Vision alone could take out everyone without flinching. But directors the Russo brothers have made it clear that none of them are out to kill. Make no mistake though. Not everyone is going to make it out alive. This will be the last time you see one (or more) of the following characters on a Marvel poster.
Here’s the official synopsis: “Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.”
“Captain America: Civil War” stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, Daniel Brühl, and Tom Holland. It premieres 6th May.
