Warner Bros recently revealed that the DC supervillains movie “Suicide Squad” went into reshoots, and rumours swirled that it was to add in more humour. This, in response to the critical and fanboy drubbing “Batman v Superman” received for being “too dark” and “not fun”. Those are stupid accusations, but I won’t be surprised if the studio took it seriously. Whatever the case, a brand new trailer just premiered at the MTV Movie Awards and is now online. From the looks of it, there’s no shortage of humour or wit. So those rumours are probably a load a bull. Following on from the last, rather excellent trailer, this one is also set to an old song, and showcases each member of the group and their idosyncracies. What’s new is the group dynamics, as we see them riling each other up and having a drink together. I have a good feeling about what director David Ayer seems to have pulled off here. Oh, and Harley Quinn is just too darn adorable!

Here’s the official synopsis: “It feels good to be bad…Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?”

“Suicide Squad” stars Will Smith, Jay Hernandez, Jared Leto, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Viola Davis, Adam Beach, Common , Ike Barinholtz, Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne, and Raymond Olubowale. It premieres 5th August.
