James Gunn is probably a better writer than he is a director, and he’s a pretty solid director. He’s got a great sense of comic wit, and a penchant for writing some messed up, albeit compelling-as-heck characters. Gunn provided the screenplay for “The Belko Experiment”, a thriller with a “Battle Royale” meets “Office Space” thriller. I’ve been hearing a lot about this one, and finally a trailer has dropped. It looks pretty kickass too, with this red-band trailer showcasing the fact that the filmmakers are NOT shying away from the violence. Colour me even more intrigued now.

Here’s the official synopsis: “The Belko Experiment explores a twisted social experiment, in which a group of 80 Americans are locked in their high-rise corporate office in Bogata and ordered by an unknown voice on an intercom system to participate in a deadly game of kill or be killed. It stars 10 Cloverfield Lane‘s John Gallagher Jr., Scandal‘s Tony Goldwyn, True Detective‘s Adria Arjona, John C. McGinley, Silicon Valley‘s Josh Brener, Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn and Melonie Diaz, who co-starred in Fruitvale Station.”

“The Belko Experiment” is directed by Greg McLean (“Wolf Creek”), and stars John Gallagher Jr, Tony Goldwyn, Adria Arjona, John C. McGinley, Josh Brener, Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, and Melonie Diaz. It premieres
